Our people

Peter Anstey

Head of Innovation

The culture is like a high-performance sports team. Everyone pushes each other to achieve and relies on every ‘position’ to make the collective work. It’s loud, fun and exciting.

There are many employers out there... What made you choose Opus?

Opus has a vision for how the recruitment industry will be in 10 years. We’re doing stuff now everyone will be trying to perfect in the future, and that’s an exciting prospect!

Tell us what you think about our company culture.

Tell us a bit about your role…

I’m responsible for driving progress on our talent solutions model and bringing clients more value in the hiring process. Mainly, I’m here to listen to their needs and find solutions to their problems.

What do you get up to on a typical day?

Typical days are hard to come by. I try to perform my core functions of working with our clients to improve their understanding of the talent lifecycle, but every day brings a new challenge.

What’s the best thing about working here?

The energy. It’s like no place I’ve ever worked. There is a collective effort to succeed from every level of the business. It doesn’t matter if you’re a new grad or a director, you all share the same passion and ambition.

What’s your opinion on our L&D?

It’s in-depth and well managed. The best part is that it’s constantly being re-worked and improved, so you aren’t learning the same thing every year.

What are the two most important things you’ve taken away from training?

Listen to your peers. Ask for help.

What incentivises you at work?

The mission of the work itself. What are we doing every day, and why am I excited to be part of it?

What's been your biggest achievement?

Winning the tug of war contest at the summer festival!

What do you think makes someone successful at Opus?

Ambition. Hard Work. Positivity. Intelligence.

To anyone thinking about applying, what would you tell them?

Look at your core motivations and think about what you want to achieve. Opus will demand the very best of you, so you need to match the company ambition with your own. Some days will be difficult here – you’ll need to embrace those because the good days are worth it.

What do you do in your spare time?

I’m a football enthusiast and love watching QPR lose week in, week out (not).
