There are many employers out there... What made you choose Opus?

I heard about how fast Opus was growing and all the awards they were winning, which really intrigued me. I’ve always wanted to be part of a company that strives to be the best, and that’s what I’ve found since being here.

Tell us what you think about our company culture.

The culture is one of the best things about Opus. There’s always a buzz in the office, and everyone is constantly having fun (while working hard of course!). You’re surrounded by people who are all determined to succeed, keeping you focused and motivated.

Tell us a bit about your role…

I am a Senior Recruitment Consultant specialising in the .NET Development market. I call myself the cupid of recruitment; matching excellent candidates with excellent clients.

What do you get up to on a typical day?

First thing I do is make a Mochaccino (or a double Espresso if it’s a Monday morning). I then immediately start my candidate work, speaking with all the developers who are seeking new opportunities and discussing their perfect role. I will also engage with existing and new clients to talk through their requirements.

What’s the best thing about working here?

The working environment is the best thing about Opus. Every day is different, and every day is fun. I never find myself clock-watching as I have in previous jobs.

What’s your opinion on our L&D?

Opus has a great reputation in for L&D. I heard about how good the training programmes were before I joined, and now I can see why.

There are regular training session held which cater to the needs of each consultant. This means you can constantly learn and upskill yourself. The L&D team are always on hand to offer guidance.

What are the two most important things you’ve taken away from training?

1. Listen: Know exactly what your candidates and clients are looking for, and ask the right questions.

2. Tight Process: Ensure we’re always organised and prepared for different scenarios.

What incentivises you at work?

Money, career progression and incentives such as trips abroad.

What's been your biggest achievement?

Two promotions during my time here, the most recent being my promotion to Senior Consultant.

What do you think makes someone successful at Opus?

Resilience and hard work.

To anyone thinking about applying, what would you tell them?

If you’re looking for somewhere where you can make serious money and rapidly progress your career, while actually enjoying the work you do… Opus is the place to be.

What do you do in your spare time?

I’m a football addict, lifelong Man United supporter and captain of my local 11-a-side team. I also enjoy playing chess, reading autobiographies and have recently joined the Bitcoin bandwagon.
